A Russian missile on Wednesday hit an industrial area in Ukraine’s northern city of Kharkiv killing three people and injuring at least five others, and causing a major fire in a printing house, local authorities said.

Kharkiv region, which borders Russia to the north and lies close to the front line, has suffered regular attacks during Russia’s two-year-old invasion.

“According to preliminary data, it was a cruise missile. A serious fire continues at the site, as a printing house is located there,” Oleh Synehubov, the regional governor, told national TV.

A furniture and paint products factory also came under the attack, Serhiy Bolvinov, the head of the investigative department of the regional police, added.

Rescuers rushed to the site to fight flames covering an area of more than 2,000 square meters, the emergency service said.

They continued working through the rubble, as up to ten people may stay trapped, according to the governor.
