Cars so expensive that we cant even dream of buying them. And it broke our hearts when these 5 high-priced cars were destroyed during the making of the film.
Hollywood action films have the best high speed chase scenes done in the most gorgeous cars that we couldn´t even dream of buying. And sadly, these beautiful, super-expensive cars often get completely destroyed during the process of film-making. It´s not an issue for the producers, as the damage of the car is included in their lavish budgets. But when car manufacturers design and build a new car, they expect that it lasts a long time and provides value to the customers. They do not build top-end vehicles so that they can get completely smashed to bits on the screen. Here are some of the most expensive cars that got destroyed during the making of films:
One of the most influential and famous cars that Porsche has ever manufactured is it’s 917. The vehicle is famous for clinching an overall victory at the 1970 Le Mans. The car is expensive primarily for two reasons – First, its super-advanced technology, and secondly, its racing pedigree. Even the car’s top-notch performance and immense fan following could not prevent it from getting destroyed Steve McQueen’s “Le Mans” in 1971. The sad part is – Neither the car survived nor the film at the box office.
Whenever the name Aston Martin comes up, James Bond pops up in our minds. The man with the license to kill is known for his fast and lavish cars, especially the Aston Martin. However, the majority of his vehicles end up at the scrapyard after being spectacularly damaged. This is precisely what the fate of the Aston Martin DBS was in the Bond classic, Casino Royale.
DC’s billionaire Bruce Wayne is known for his lavish lifestyle, which of course includes a happening love life and super-fast and attractive vehicle. One of the most attractive cars featured in Nolan’s The Dark Knight was the Lamborghini Murcielago, which sadly, Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne crashed intentionally in the film for a good cause (to prevent an assassination).

CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY (1987)
Classic corvettes are perfect eye candies, be they in real or reel life. The second-generation Corvette models are the best in the series since they are the perfect blend of beauty & power. These attractive corvettes have been featured in many Hollywood films over the years, but the one appearance which broke every car enthusiast’s heart was in Con Air. The vehicle crashed through a tower and got shredded to pieces. Not a pleasant picture, is it?
The Lykan Hypersport created massive waves when it was first announced. Its first-ever film feature was in Fast & Furious 7. Dominic Toretto made the car jump from a building (yes, you read that right), only to go crashing down onto the ground. The film franchise has made hundreds of cars go through this, but the Hypersport’s destruction was heart-breaking for the gearheads.

Hollywood films are unrivalled in the world, when it comes to action scenes. And unfortunately due to their continued popularity, production houses will continue to destroy expensive cars to achieve that perfect action scene in the film.
