In a surprising move, the TVS NTorq 125 XT that went on sale recently has received a price cut. The new feature-laden version of the scooter is now cheaper by ₹ 5,762 and is now priced at ₹ 97,061 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The NTorq 125 XT was launched in May this year priced at ₹ 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The asking price made it significantly more expensive than its rivals and even about ₹ 13,612 pricier over the NTorq 125 Race XP version. The price cut makes it more accessible, albeit it’s still more expensive than most 125 cc scooters in the segment. Barring the NTorq 125 XT, no other variant in the NTorq family has received a price change.

The TVS NTorq 125 XT sports a new hybrid instrument console, which is part TFT and part LCD, and gets new features, including Voice Assist, social media alerts, and more.

The new TVS NTorq 125 XT variant offers cosmetic and feature upgrades with no major improvements on the mechanical front. The new top-spec variant is equipped with a hybrid SmartXonnect system featuring a coloured TFT and LCD console. It gets 60 hi-tech features including a first-of-its-kind Voice Assist feature which can accept voice commands, called the SmartXtalk system. The scooter also gets the TVS IntelliGO technology with silent, smooth, and superior start-stop function along with lighter and sportier alloy wheels.

In comparison, the TVS NTorq 125 Race XP is priced at ₹ 89,211 (ex-showroom, Delhi), already comes loaded with a host of features including the TFT screen with SmartXonnect system and the powerful 124.8 cc, single-cylinder, three-valve, air-cooled engine with 9.25 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

While the value additions on the NTorq 125 XT are great, it seems there are fewer customers willing to pay the premium over the Race XP version or even the more affordable Race Edition that retails at ₹ 85,161 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s noteworthy that at a time when prices have been on a constant rise across the auto sector, TVS has made a price correction to its model.
