MG Motor India is readying its next launch for India, the 2022 MG Gloster SUV, and a test mule was recently spotted undergoing tests near Karnataka. We don’t expect MG to go all out with the updates, but instead minor upgrades to the exterior and a slightly tweaked cabin to spice up the car, like the company did with the 2022 MG Hector. The test mule was fully wrapped in camouflage making it difficult to spot the changes, however, expect MG to tweak the front grille, and bumper, as well as introduce a new design for the LED headlamps.

The design details at the rear are limited, and we believe the 2022 MG Gloster SUV would feature the same rear bumper and tailgate. The interior will largely remain unchanged, albeit for a revised upholstery and a couple of additions to the equipment list. It will continue to feature the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as three-zone climate control with an air purifier. The driver’s side would continue with the 12-way adjustable functionality while safety would be handled by the 6-airbags and a slew of options from the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) system.

The heart would continue to be powered by the diesel engines- a 2.0-litre turbo unit and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo mill, developing 160 bhp & 375Nm, 215 bhp & 480Nm respectively. The transmission would be a single 8-speed automatic unit. As before, the 2022 MG Gloster SUV would get RWD and 4WD systems depending on the variant. As far as pricing goes, we expect the 2022 MG Gloster SUV to be launched at a slight premium over the previous model, and so expect it be in the range of ₹ 31 lakh – Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
