IONIQ 6 retains the parametric pixel design elements seen on the IONIQ 5 with the teaser previewing a sleek and streamlined four-door coupe.
Hyundai has over the course of the past few days, released multiple teasers for its upcoming all-new IONIQ 6 ahead of its upcoming reveal. The teasers reveal portions of the vehicle’s exterior starting from the front and moving all the way to the rear. Previewed by the Hyundai Percept concept, the IONIQ 6 was previously teased in a short video hinting at its aerodynamic shape – similar to that of the concept. The latest teasers reveal some new design detailing such as the parametric pixel design elements incorporated within the car’s various light clusters and an overall design that is very different from Hyundai’s current range of internal combustion vehicles.

Parametric pixel design elements feature in the headlamps and tail lights
Starting with the front, the images reveal a low set nose with prominent bulges over the wheel arches and sleek headlamps with parametric pixel LED daytime running lamps. The sides meanwhile reveal a very clean design with the IONIQ 6 lacking the creases and cuts that have defined Hyundai’s latest internal combustion models. The car gets camera-based wing mirrors (expected only in some markets), bulging wheel arches, and a steeply raked rear pillar flowing into the boot. The shoulder line follows the length of the car’s windowline before curling downward hinting at a low set rear. Also revealed is a parametric pixel design rear light cluster with the unit likely being the third stop lamp rather than the main tail lamp cluster. The rear bumper meanwhile gets black cladding along the lower edge with parametric pixel design lighting elements at the corners.

Hyundai calls the IONIQ a ‘Electrified Streamliner’ given its low slung and aerodynamic design.
The IONIQ 6 is Hyundai’s second model to be based on the firms purpose-built e-GMP platform first seen on the IONIQ 5. Like the latter, the IONIQ 6 too is expected to become available globally with a choice of single and dual electric motor powertrains with the design expected to aid the model in reducing its drag co-efficient.
