Tata Motors sold 41,587 units in April 2022.

Tata Motors has recorded a healthy sales growth of 66 per cent in its passenger vehicle business selling 41,587 units last month as compared to 25,095 units sold in the same month last year. The company continues to record robust sales growth despite headwinds due to supply chain constraints given the semiconductor shortage issue. Having said that, on month-on-month (MoM) basis the sales growth has slipped slightly by 1.66 per cent as the Indian carmaker sold 42,293 units in March 2022.

The Tata Nexon EV has been the bestselling all-electric model in the Indian Market.

Sales of petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles went up by 60 per cent in April 2022 selling 39,265 units when compared to 24,514 units sold in the same month last year. At the same, sales of its electric vehicles witnessed a growth of 300 per cent, but that’s mostly attributed to a low base in April last year. Tata Motors sold 2322 units of EVs in April 2022 as compared to 581 units sold in the same month a year ago. The Tata Nexon EV and the Tigor EV have contributed significantly its EV sales, however, it’s likely to pick up pace post 2024 when production versions of its recently showcased Avinya and Curvv concept will hit the road along with several other new all-electric models.

In CV business, Tata Motors ecorded an uptick of 109 per cent.

Now Coming to its commercial vehicle business, the company recorded an uptick of 109 per cent last month in the domestic market selling 29,880 units as compared to 14,306 units sold a year ago. Its CV exports also went up by 87 per cent shipping out 30,838 units as against 16,515 units sent out in the same month last year. Overall, Tata Motors recorded a growth of 81 per cent (PV + CV) selling 71,467 units as compared to 39,401 units sold in the same month last year.
