Home-grown commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, announced the sales numbers for the month of March 2022, during which the total domestic sales stood at 18,556 units, compared to 15,761 units sold in March 2021, registering a growth of 18 per cent. Cumulative sales stood at 1,17,312 units as against 92,714 units, registering a year-on-year growth of 27 per cent last month. The M&HCV (Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Trucks and M&HCV Bus segment saw a sale of 12,734 units in March 2022, compared to 9,901 in the same period last year, recording a growth of 29 per cent.

The company saw year-on-year growth of 41 per cent, registering 65,090 units last month as against 46,043 units in the same period last year. The LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles) segment, however, saw a minuscule growth of 1 per cent, registering 5,822 units in March 2022, as against 5,860 units sold in March 2021. The year-on-year growth in this segment for the company saw a positive momentum as it registered 52,222 units in March 2022, as against 46,671 units in March 2021, a growth of 12 per cent.

In February 2022, the company registered a 4 per cent month-on-month growth, recording sales of 13,281 units, compared to 12,776 units sold in February 2021. The company recorded a year-on-year growth of 28 per cent, selling 98,756 units as against 76,953 sold during the same period last year.
