India’s Tejaswin Shankar won the bronze medal in the men’s high jump final. He jumped 2.22m and finished behind Australia’s Brandon Starc and New Zealand’s Hamish Kerr, who won the silver and gold medals respectively.
Tejaswin faltered at the height of 2.25m and gave one last try at the 2.28m to see if he could miraculously land the gold, but it wasn’t to be. The bronze medal in the track and field event is nonetheless a big achievement for the national record holder, who has a personal best of 2.29m.
