New Delhi:
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday proposed the formulation of a battery swapping policy for Electric Vehicles charging stations.
“Battery swapping policy to allow Electric Vehicles charging stations for automobiles will be framed,” said Ms Sitharaman.

The Minister said the government move was aimed at promoting the use of public transport in urban areas.
The introduction of modern building by-laws was also announced by the Minister.
To further promote the ease of doing business, Ms Sitharaman said as many as 75,000 compliances have been eliminated and 1,486 union laws have been repealed.

Five existing academic institutions will be named centres of excellence in urban planning with an endowment fund of Rs 250 crore.
A completely paperless e-bill system will also be launched by the ministries for procurement, Ms Sitharaman stated.
The Minister also announced that 25,000 km of national highway will be built in this financial year (2022-23).
