The Gravton Quanta electric bike promises a range of 150 km in the Eco mode
Hyderabad-based start-up, Gravton Motors has announced that its upcoming electric bike Quanta has entered the Asia Book of Records. The company said that the Gravton Quanta electric bike completed the run from Kanyakumari to Khardung La in a record time of 164 hours and 30 minutes or 6.5 days. The K2K ride was achieved back in September 2021 with the team covering a distance of 4,011.9 km. During this period, the team did not stop in order to recharge the batteries and instead swapped the unit in order to complete the record in time. However, the company has not disclosed how many battery swaps it made during the course of the ride.

With different riders, the Gravton team only stopped at Manali to acclimatise themselves at the high altitude after riding continuously for 3,400 km. The two-wheeler maker claims the Quanta showed no signs of dullness in performance with the company’s thermal management system designed to optimise performance even in the low temperatures of Ladakh.
The Gravton Quanta is made in India and draws power from a proprietary BLDC motor that develops 3 kW and 172 Nm of peak torque. The e-bike claims a top speed of 70 kmph while the range strands at 150 km in the Eco mode, 110 km in City mode and 85 km in the Sport mode. The e-bike’s dual battery system allows extending the range to 320 km, while the model can be fully charged in 90 minutes via a fast charger.

Gravton Motors is yet to begin sales of the Quanta, which will begin later this year. The company has set up a new manufacturing facility in Cherlapally, Hyderabad, which will cater to the demand. The Gravton Quanta is priced at ₹ 89,999 (ex-showroom), while customers can pre-book the model for a token of ₹ 499. The model is available in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
