Using underinflated tyres
This should be pretty common knowledge that when the tyres are underinflated and not up to the mark, the travelling is tough, and the car doesn’t function properly. It is advised by experts that the tyres be checked every month, and the air pressure inside the tyres should be accounted for. The tyres start to lose pressure over long periods of usage, and the situation becomes worse, after which replacement might be the only option.

Using EV tyres that were not meant to be for the EV
There are several factors that dictate the specific tyres that are made for specific EVs – noise profile, grip, rolling resistance, and even longevity. Now imagine, improper fitting parts into improper parts of the car might lead to the car malfunctioning severely. In fact, the car might be damaged beyond repair. It is always good to ensure what the customer is buying before the purchase has been made. The specifications are listed by the manufacturer, and the car’s needs are also noted in the car’s manual. Make sure that the correct set of tyres is fitted for the correct vehicles in order to ensure that the performance and range of the car are not affected.

Using tyres that weren’t meant for EVs at all
It is one thing to use EV tyres that are not meant for EVs; it is an entyrely different thing to fit tyres that weren’t meant for EVs at all. There are subtle differences between traditional tyres and normal tyres:
- EV tyres are traditionally made to be 20% lighter than normal tyres (that support ICE engines in traditional cars).
- EV tyres tend to use lesser rubber and lesser materials in them.
- The rolling resistance in the case of EV tyres is much less as compared to traditional tyres (about 30%).
- EV tyres are customized to become narrower.
- Sound damping in the case of EV tyres is much more as compared to traditional tyres.
- The range of EV tyres is much more as compared to traditional tyres along with higher efficiency.
