Toyota is all set to bring in a compact SUV to the Indian market and the company announced that this will be a joint effort with Suzuki. We’ve already seen spy shots of Toyota’s new compact SUV that will make its debut in India on July 1, but now the company has teased the car for the very first time. To be called the Hyryder (Toyota has yet not confirmed the name), the compact SUV is what you’d expect a high-riding SUV to look like. In the teaser image, we only get to see the front of the car and that gives us a clearer picture of the design

Toyota Hyryder Design
The Hyryder follows the split headlamp design that has become common on many of today’s SUV. The LED daytime running lamps sit flanking the grille up top with a thick chrome bar extending towards the central Toyota logo. The main headlamp unit sit lower on the front bumper flanking a prominent central air dam with a faux skid plate element at the base of the bumper. The image also suggests dual-tone paint finishes will be available, but we’ll know more about it on the day of the reveal.

The new compact SUV will be built at Toyota’s facility in Bengaluru and the Suzuki iteration of the car will be launched soon after Toyota launches its car. We expect it to get the 1.5-litre petrol engine with smart hybrid technology but Toyota might surprise us by bringing in a strong hybrid model too.
