TVS is readying a complete portfolio of two and three-wheelers in the range of 5-25 kW.
TVS Motor Company and Jio-bp announced their agreement to explore the creation of public EV charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in India, building on Jio-bp’s growing network in this space. Under this proposed partnership, the customers of TVS are expected to get access to the widespread charging network of Jio-bp, which is also open to other vehicles. Jio-bp, a joint venture of Reliance Industries Ltd and BP Plc, recently partnered with Mahindra Group, under a similar partnership to explore the creation of products and services for strengthening the conglomerate’s electric vehicle push.

Under the new JV between TVS and Jio-bp, both firms will explore creating a regular AC charging network and a DC fast-charging network in India, as well as harness their global expertise in electrification and apply them to the Indian market through the physical and digital approaches. Jio-bp is operating its EV charging and swapping stations under the brand Jio-bp pulse, which offers a seamless way to find nearby charging stations. Moreover, the company is also working on various frameworks to assist stakeholders in the EV value chain by creating a sustainable EV charging ecosystem.

TVS Motor Company has made significant strides towards developing new electric mobility products and related technologies in the recent past. The company offers the TVS iQube electric scooter in the country and has sold more than 12,000 units of it. Moreover, the company has also committed ₹ 1,000 crore towards its EV business, as it is readying a complete portfolio of two and three-wheelers in the range of 5-25 kW, all of which will be in the market within the next 24 months.
