The upcoming Harley-Davidson Sportster could be badged as the ‘Nightster’ upon launch
Harley-Davidson is all set to expand its Sportster family and the American bike maker has dropped the teaser for a new offering. While details are scarce at the moment, we do know that the new Harley-Davidson Sportster will be revealed on April 12, 2022, and is likely to be positioned below the Harley-Davidson Sportster S currently on sale. The teaser image does give a glimpse of what we can expect from the motorcycle. This includes a bikini fairing, circular LED headlamp, larger wheels with thinner tyres, elongated rear fender and a single-side exhaust.

The upcoming Harley-Davidson Sportster also promises more relaxed ergonomics over the Sportster S, which will make it more apt for cruising. The bike also appears to get telescopic front forks, twin shocks at the rear, along with bar-end mirrors, a single-seat and a digital instrument console that seems to be taken from the Sportster S. There’s no word on the powertrain yet and it will be interesting to see if the new Sportster borrows the 1250 cc Revolution Max engine from the larger Sportster S and the Pan America 125. There is also a possibility that Harley will pack a 975 cc V-Twin engine on its new Sportster, positioning the model as a more accessible offering.

Recent reports also suggest that the new Harley-Davidson Sportster could be badged as the ‘Nightster’ upon launch. The company recently trademarked the name and it might just be for the upcoming motorcycle. More details on the upcoming Sportster will be revealed later this month and we should get a more detailed idea of the specifications as well as the availability then. The new H-D Sportster is likely to arrive in India too after its global debut.
