The Nissan Magnite has been on a sale in India for about two and a half years now
Nissan Motor India has hit a new milestone with the Magnite subcompact SUV’s bookings crossing the one lakh mark. The Nissan Magnite was a game changer for the automaker bringing volumes back to the Japanese auto giant. The offering went on sale in December 2020 and it’s taken about two and a half years for the Magnite to achieve the 100,000 bookings number. The model received over 32,000 bookings in a month since its launch while the 40,000 units mark was achieved in February 2021. The automaker received 78,000 bookings nearly a year later in January 2022 and the Magnite is maintaining the momentum with over 22,000 bookings received since. Do note that this comes amidst the multiple lockdowns and a low buying sentiment in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Compared to its rivals, the Nissan Magnite’s value-friendly pricing has given it an edge. Originally launched at a super-competitive ₹ 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), pricing on the Magnite was a disruptor. The SUV continues to be the most affordable in the segment but has seen a steep price hike over the years and now starts at ₹ 5.88 lakh, going up to ₹ 10.56 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India.
For the price, the top variants are loaded on the feature front with LED headlamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument console, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and keyless entry, push-button start-stop, rear AC vents and more. Power comes from a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol that develops 71 bhp, while the more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol makes 99 bhp. The latter can be had with a CVT gearbox as well along with the standard 5-speed manual.
