The Glanza and Urban Cruiser cater to about 66 per cent of first time Toyota buyers
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that sales of the Urban Cruiser and the Glanza models have cumulatively crossed the one lakh mark. The Toyota Glanza was launched in June 2019 while the Toyota Urban Cruiser arrived in September 2020. Both models are essentially the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, as part of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership. The company further revealed that the Glanza clocked over 65,000 units while over 35,000 units of the Urban Cruiser were sold since the launch.

The Glanza and Urban Cruiser cater to about 66 per cent of first time Toyota buyers, the company revealed, especially in Tier II & III markets. The models have helped Toyota India target younger customers at lower price points when compared to its more expensive models like the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner. The company also offers its own warranty and service packages for hassle-free ownership.

Toyota is all set to expand its line-up further this year with the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Ertiga expected to join the line-up soon. The rebadged offerings are already sold overseas and are likely to make their way to the domestic markets by mid-year. At present, Toyota is gearing up to introduce the Hilux pick-up in March this year. The model was recently unveiled in India and will be a halo product for the brand.
